Modern architectural aesthetics: New technique of gluing TERCA façade bricks
Thanks to new processing techniques of "gluing and thin layer masonry" the classic brick facade has received a completely new appearance.
With the technique of gluing TERCA façade modern bricks WIENERBERGER has set completely new accents in façade design. Modern architects have praised above all the playful new possibilities this façade design offers.
WIENERBERGER is convinced that gluing of façade bricks is the technique of the future; the bricks are not affixed to each other with ordinary mortar but rather with a thin layer of glue. This creates all kinds of new perspectives, both technical and creative. While the jointing often forces the façade bricks into the background, with this new gluing process the effect is exactly the opposite: The thin joints bring the brick into the foreground visually. They make large, homogenous coloured surfaces possible as well as very modern, often daring bonds, vaults and curves. The colour and surface of the joints no longer play an important role when the masonry is glued. On facades laid with bricks in the traditional manner the joints can take up as much as 25% of the surface; for masonry with thin joints this amount is reduced to four to six percent.
