Varier® Penguin and Eight getting Norwegian design awards

Variér Furniture AS has grand slammed the Norwegian Design Award by getting two awards for product design.

The Variér Penguin, designed by Peter Opsvik, received the prize for its gracious curves of laminated wood and for its innovative functionality of movement between the seat and the legs.

The Variér Eight, a high kitchen chair designed by Olav Eldøy, was acclaimed for its beautiful organic shape and for the integrated tilting mechanism which invites to a revolutionary sitting excperience compared with traditional bar stools.

Variér Eight was launched on the market at the IMM fair in 2008, whereas Variér Penguin was launched in October 2008. The biggest markets for Variér are Italy, BENELUX, Germany and the Nordic countries.

Having previously received design awards for five other chairs, Variér now demonstrates a wide range of proven design icons made by four different designers.
