New, environmentally friendly flooring for public premises – LifeLineTM

The ethical considerations of commercial and public construction are particularly emphasised in material selection. The LifeLine flooring family offers an innovative alternative for users who demand high-quality performance characteristics from their floors while making a pro-environmental choice.

Based on these values the Finnish Upofloor has created the PVC- and plasticiser-free LifeLine product family. The result of ten years of product development, LifeLine is designed for heavy duty commercial applications, such as shops. department stores, cafeterias, schools, hospitals and care centres. The LifeLine floorings are classified in the highest wear resistance group T and withstand efficiently wear and tear. The product line comprises three different floorings with a total of 85 designs in tile, sheet and plank flooring options.
The LifeLine floorings do not contain PVC, plasticisers, halogens, chlorine, stabilisers or heavy metals. They are mainly manufactured from clean, natural minerals. LifeLine flooring is a safe choice health-wise, since it does not release emissions into indoor air and, during a fire, for instance, does not generate toxic combustion gases such as hydrogen chloride or hydrogen cyanide. Its extremely durable, impermeable ionomer surface (similar to the surface of golf ball) repels dirt, requiring only minor amounts of cleaning chemicals and water. Since light does not change LifeLine’s colour, moving store furniture around will not leave differently-toned areas on the floor. The floor surface and colour also withstand strong chemicals without changing.
LifeLine product family comprises three products: LifeLine CS offers 48 colours in sheet form, LifeLine Tiles are available in 25 colours and h LifeLine LT Luxury Tiles feature 12 natural looking wood designs.
All three products can be mixed-and-matched; they are all 2.0 mm thick and the colours are designed to match each other beautifully.
