Crea! Mater award granted to the NeoRomántico Sostenible bench
Santa & Cole receives the first Crea Mater award for the development of a new material applied to a tangible project.
On 7 October last, Josep Ma. Serra, Santa & Cole’s Publisher of urban elements, received in Madrid, from Beatriz Corredor (Housing Minister), Miguel Sebastián (Industry, Tourism and Trade Minister) and Miquel Espinet (President of the FAD), the prize awarded by Mater, the FAD’s materials centre, for the development of a novel material composed of recycled polypropylene reinforced with 30% fibreglass, applied to the structure with injection arm of the NeoRomántico Sostenible bench.
The awarding of this prize also inaugurated the exhibition «Mater in progress. New materials, new industry», whose aim is to show and to present innovation and technological development through materials. It is a surprising journey through the different economic sectors, in which, by means of tangible projects, we are shown the potential of new materials in the contemporary world.
Ideas are immaterial, but they are always associated with a material. In turn, new materials and technological development always tend to be the driving force of new ideas.
The NeoRomántico Sostenible bench represents the new generation of the family. With it, Santa & Cole is environmentally involved in improving the life cycle of urban elements, using recycled and recyclable materials, more resistant to corrosion, ageing and extreme uses.
