molo will be in London at 100% design to introduce a new system of flexible LED lighting that integrates with our modular system of softwall + softblock to transform these elements into completely flexible, freestanding, glowing partitions.

This luminous version of softwall + softblock emphasizes the visual delicacy of the textile fibre and makes the expansion, contraction and fluid movement of these freestanding soft structures all the more magical.

As a light source, softwall provides the possibility to shape pure uncluttered sculptural environments using softwalls, softseating and softlighting. softwall + softblock has always provided a medium for shaping the acoustics and sunlight of a space in a flexible way. A way that can be tailored to a specific occasion and then compressed, expanded and rearranged for other occasions. The cellular structure and vertical pleats that run the course of an expanded wall serve to dampen sound, while translucent or opaque versions of softwall + softblock can sculpt the ambient light of a space.

Opening softwall is a playful engaging experience as the honeycomb expands to create a completely freestanding structure, hundreds of times larger than its compressed form. The efficiency of the structure allows for an incredible economy of material. The flexibility of the structure is pragmatic for compact portability and reshaping environments for contemporary living and working. You can choose to open any softwall or softblock element to the maximum 4.5 meter (15’) length. Or you can choose to open it a shorter length to suit a particular occasion or space with the flexible LED ribbons of light adjusting to the changes in length and movement. softwall + softblock modular system includes a variety of standard and custom heights up to 3.05m (10’) tall.
