When top legal firm Addleshaw Goddard decided to bring all of its London-based staff together under one roof at Milton Gate, Overbury plc invited Levolux to help with one of the most demanding fit-out contracts to be completed in the past 12 months.
The interior of the office building, located close to London’s Barbican, has been completely re-fitted on six of the building’s seven floors for Addleshaw Goddard. Designed by MCM Architecture, the interior includes a range of eye-catching features, including colour coordinated Roller Blinds, Curtains and Stretched Acoustic Fabric Walling from Levolux.
Whilst the offices benefit from excellent natural lighting, they are also subjected to the problem of glare from direct sunlight. To help combat this problem, Levolux devised a comprehensive internal Solar Shading solution incorporating its 760SX Roller Blinds, 790 Electric Room Darkening Blinds and Cord Drawn Curtains.
The 760SX Roller Blind system comprises 756 manually operated roller blinds with a specially selected white/grey fabric and an automatic braking system. These are used to control light levels and prevent glare in office areas. The 790 Electric Room Darkening Blind system comprises 33 motorised blinds, with side guides fitted with brush inserts and a light excluding squeeze bead in the bottom bar. These provide a greater degree of light control in the auditorium and in meeting rooms.
Levolux also installed 12 of its Cord Drawn Curtains in larger meeting rooms and in the dining area. With a range of premium fabrics and a fire retardant, blackout lining, these add a touch of finesse to the rooms and enhance the overall scheme.
Elsewhere, Acoustic Stretched Fabric Walling was specified for 50 meeting rooms as well as the dining and hospitality areas, to achieve an impressive, visually striking design feature, with excellent acoustic control. Levolux fitted almost 1400 sq metres of fabric walling on three floors, applied to flat and curved wall surfaces. The site-built Novawall system features an acoustic infill panel, fitted into an upholstered frame and is available in a range of specially selected fabrics to complement any scheme.
Levolux’s contribution on this project has helped to ensure that the striking building provides the perfect environment for its new tenant for years to come.
