In Luck! The optimist – Klaus Hokamp and his new seating enjoyment
Sometimes even established furniture designers get their inspiration for magnificent ideas from very simple and naive things. When Klaus Hokamp, the successful creative designer and entrepreneur from Berlin, was leafing through his children’s beautiful picture book ‘Klein-Mannchen findet das Glück’ (The Little Man Finds Luck), the saying which he had heard years earlier and had never forgotten occurred to him: “When lady luck comes along you must give her a chair manufacturers to sit on.”
His comical ‘Optimist’ rocker is formally based on a clover leaf, and it is not only ‘Klein Mannchen’ from the book by Max Velthuijs who knows that the rare four-leaved clover is a real lucky charm.
Lucky is the person, therefore, who takes a seat on this ‘Optimist’ and who discovers a new kind of sitting on this spirited modern stool. For the new offering from Hokamp is formed like a bounce-back toy figure, permitting every movement of the person sitting on it.
Of course when it comes to the newcomer ‘Optimist’ the young designer, whose ‘Hokamp’ collection is distinguished by the greatest comfort and best quality: affordable luxury, “made in Germany”.
But Klaus Hokamp would not be Klaus Hokamp if he did not want to ensure that seating enjoyment can also take place elsewhere. The designer also envisages space for the attractive lucky charms in casually furnished living rooms or in the stylish public building sector.
A matching small home table which perfectly suits the ‘Optimist’ has also been created in the designer workshop of the creative Berliner.
Congratulations – on the great new seating idea and on rediscovering an old picture book!
