Instabus KNX/EIB system

Instabus KNX/EIB system

The Gira Instabus KNX/EIB is an intelligent system for electrical installation that via automation and remote control technology makes living more comfortable, flexible and safer.

The condition for this is that the decision for a KNX/EIB installation is already made in the planning phase.

Instabus KNX/EIB is initially nothing more than a green cable that's installed flush-mounted together with the power supply. The intelligence is added later. This is added via push button sensors, or in central control units such as the Gira SmartSensor or the Gira InfoTerminal Touch. These devices replace conventional switches and send control commands via the bus lines – to lights, blinds, the music system and to other Instabus KNX/EIB-capable devices.

Even complex solutions can be realised. However, it is then advisable to use a Gira HomeServer or FacilityServer. All information comes together here, and from here the commands go out that, for example, turn radiators up or down and help save energy in the process.

The trained electrician can realise almost any desired function. A major advantage of a Instabus KNX/EIB installation: the system can be modified and expanded at any time without noise and dirt. If new or other functions are desired, they can easily be programmed.

Possibilities of the Gira Instabus KNX/EIB
It's important that the technology is extremely simple to operate. A press of the finger is sufficient to produce entire light scenarios. With the multiroom system music can be enjoyed in every room. Or the sun protection functions of the generously glazed southern side are practically coordinated with each other.

And it functions even when no one is at home. For the intelligent house can control many things automatically, as sun, rain, wind and brightness are measured and the necessary commands are sent to the system when limits are exceeded.

A large number of practical solutions increase safety in homes and flats. For example, smoke detectors can be interconnected. If one of them sounds the alarm during the night, the connected devices not only ensure that the occupants wake up. The lights in all rooms are simultaneously switched on and the blinds are opened to create escape routes.

The safety aspect also includes the occupied home simulation. The times every day when the lights are switched on and off in various rooms can be stored with KNX/EIB over a period of several weeks and then repeated later automatically – when the occupants are on holiday.

And the modern electrical installation also offers a large number of practical functions for senior living. They all help older people to keep living at home for as long and as comfortably as possible.
