Focus, creator of contemporary fireplaces, received the Design Trophy at the Batimat International Building Exhibition, which took place 5–10 November 2007 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris.
The award-winning fireplace was the Kinéfocus, created by the founder and current director of Focus, Dominique Imbert. The ground-breaking Kinéfocus is the first fireplace that can be integrated into a wall as well as pivot to face different directions. It also boasts excellent thermal and environmental efficiency. No longer does a fireplace have to be a static, background presence; the Kinéfocus allows the fire to be an active participant in a gathering, able to turn to join the conversation.
Other new models that were exhibited include several wood-burning fireplaces, as well as three new designs that function on bio-ethanol. All the models bear the Focus hallmark of flawless contemporary designer and craftsmanship. None of these models have yet been presented to the press.
Today, Focus offers over 60 models that share an aesthetic approach which balances elegance and inventiveness, far from the standard fireplaces on the market.
