The Mutaflex Seating Concept by Figueras International Seating has received yet another prize: the Award for Business and Commercial Innovation, in the Culture of Innovation category. The prizes are an initiative of the Granollers City Council in collaboration with a number of entities based in the county of Vallés. Their purpose is to recognize companies that contribute to enhancing competitiveness in the county through innovation, research or quality improvements. Awards are also given to companies that are environmentally responsible and socially engaged. Figueras received an award for contributing to technological innovation through the Mutaflex Seating Concept, created and developed by the Figueras Design Centre.

Delta de Plata Award

The Business and Comercial Innovation Award is not the only one that the Mutaflex Seating Concept has received. In November 2007 this concept won the international Delta de Plata for Industrial Design, an award given by the ADI-FAD association, which brings together professionals working in different fields.

In the 32nd edition of the event, the Mutaflex Seating System was selected from among a total of 237 competing projects. The design panel of judges was chaired by Gillo Dorfles, an artist and intellectual who has written many books on industrial design, and made up of design architects and designers working at the international level. The panel recognized the Mutaflex system as a novel concept that contributes to profitability and the optimization of space in a way that is both simple and effective. They were impressed by the originality of the system and the ingenuity of its design.
