Figueras has furnished the White House pressroom with made-in-Spain seating. The emblematic room, where US presidents have made world-changing press statements, wasl inaugurated in September 2007.
The contract for the project was concluded with Figueras Seating USA, based in Miami since 2000. The US affiliate is a driving force behind new directions in design throughout the country. US companies that have put their trust in Figueras include Yahoo, Ericsson, Sony, Architectural capital One, AstraZeneca and Lockheed Martin.
The model selected for the White House, known as Flame because of the undulating movement suggested by its stylized lines, was designed by acclaimed Portuguese design architect Filipe Oliveira Dias. Flame is a high-end model, finished in beech wood and natural leather, with an original rustic pedestal in aluminium. In addition to ensuring user comfort, the chair furniture stands out for its acoustic properties. The model also incorporates a fire barrier, which helps guarantee a high level of safety in the pressroom.
