Siemens PLC puts its confidence in Fantoni for their new UK Head Office
The partnership between Fantoni and the giant Siemens has strong, deep roots; the Fantoni Group having already provided furniture for many Siemens offices in the UK over the last few years.
For Fantoni, the Siemens project for the new head office in Frimley UK, certainly represents one of the most important operations in recent years; not only in terms of volume but also for the kind of commitment required.
A large project in excess of £3 million of furniture and partitioning, 68 x 40’ containers which were delivered in 48 days for the 1,500 workplaces. The 7 weeks allowed for the main fit-out was an incredibly short time for the realization of a project of such vast proportions which was nevertheless completed to schedule.
The partnership with Fantoni was strongly desired by Siemens’ management, which has been very satisfied by the supplies and services of the last 6 or 7 years and which expressly asked the contemporary design studio BDG Workfutures to specify the Fantoni collection: BDG had in fact used Fantoni previously for another project in London.
Through excellent teamwork by Fantoni Solutions UK, Siemens Real Estate and BDG Workfutures a very prestigious head office has been achieved. The ‘campus’ is situated between the 4 buildings in a pleasant landscape: design windows that progressively filter the luminaire, automatic lighting systems, coffee stations on every floor to encourage socializing, and colourful printing stations scattered around are amongst the innovations used to create a superb working environment that respects the environment.
The Fantoni collections – Mèta, 3.3, XL and the glass room divider system ‘Acustica’ were used throughout the 12 floors of open and cellular offices, meeting and boardrooms. BDG’s superb design is highly technological and studied down to the last detail and with great attention paid to the well-being of the user which is totally in keeping with such a prestigious environment.
The fantastic final result together with the solid cooperation in terms of customer care has led the Siemens management to order the refurbishment of their Northern headquarters in Manchester using both BDG Workfutures and Fantoni.
Lydia Randall, director of the London design studio BDG Workfutures, who has directed the project for SRE confirmed the presence of a highly motivated team in both the approach to the project and in the improvement of the same: “We are delighted with the resulting design language of the project and have had plenty of feedback from Siemens that the end users are also very satisfied with the results which give them a whole range of new working environments”.
