Near Sandviken (Sweden), 180km northern than Stockholm, the world longest artificial “Pay and Ski” area has been inaugurated on 5 October 2007.
A 2km long artificial snow ring, 3m wide permits to thousands of people, professional and amateur to practice Cross-country ski also during summertime thanks to an installation composed by 4 Clivet Brine Double Screw Air-Cooled Building chillers type WDAT 3 B 2.220 SC.
The 4 Chillers are supplying water at –10°C into a piping system that keeps the snow ring at the right temperature preventing its melting process caused by the outdoor high temperatures.
Chillers have been supplied by SKIAB AB, Clivet official distributor for Sweden upon garden design and installation of company HUURRE Sweden AB (Gävle).
