In Udine, in an area that was once occupied by the Bertoli steel mills, the futuristic urban retail park Terminal Nord has been inaugurated.


Designed by the renowned home architect Gregotti, the colourful, all contemporary glass commercial park was created by the recovery of a former industrial area and present itself not only as a large sales surface, but also as a significant element of the city.

In the global project known as Parco Nord, alongside the shopping centre there will be a "town" designed according to a strategy of multiple functions, which range from the services sector to residency, so as to ensure adequate urban liveability.

For the home air conditioning of this unusual contemporary structure, the Tarvis design studio of Udine has provided for an innovative large-scale system based on the WLHP water loop. It makes use of the system of co-generation of the entire complex and geothermals, thanks to a field of horizontal probes located under the parking area .



Over 20 CRH-XHE air water heat pumps, of a high energy efficiency rooftop type, allow energy recovery on the expelled air and are equipped with high-efficiency air filters.

The speed and simplicity of installation were an additional strong point and helped to meet the deadline for inauguration of the shopping centre.

The compactness of these units has also substantially simplified the positioning of the machines and the creation of supports for them, with considerable savings also in the installation phase.


This creation is a fine example of how comfort can combine with energy savings and sustainability thanks to the use of renewable sources, energy savings and reduction in emissions of CO2.
