Controlled pedestrian access to the Forbidden City
Visitors from around the world now access the Beijing Forbidden City via Automatic Systems building gates.
Indeed, Automatic Systems’ partner Sigitech had the privilege of installing the first pilot line of the new SmartLane® automatic gates in this mythical environment. The SmartLane® aesthetical garden design seems to have conquered the Empire of the Middle.
Automatic Systems access control equipment for pedestrians is the checkpoint for millions of visitors who flock all year long from all over the world to admire the imperial treasures of the ancient Chinese civilization.
The first SmartLane® line to be installed in the Forbidden City was composed of 2 lanes (SL 900 and SL 910). After an intensive period of tests, access control equipment will be
deployed at other entrances. More orders for the Forbidden City can therefore be expected in the coming months.
Automatic Systems business activity in China dates back to the early 90’s. Amongst the major references registered by the company at the turn of the millennium in China, we can point out the installation of 400 rising barriers for toll highways, for example on the GZI Guangzhou-Shenzhen, as well as various swinging barriers at the Lok Ma Chau border ckeckpoint between Continental China and Hong Kong.
Sigitech is to be given full credit for this superb success story. Founded in 1998, the Chinese company quickly became a major player in the market covering multiple activities such as architectural door, gate and commercial windowsmodern automation, access control, ticketing and parking systems, building vehicle management facilities as well as intelligent solutions for building and residential areas. It is recognized by its national customers because the company designs and sells fully-integrated access control and security systems. Furthermore, its annual turnover has grown steadily over the last years.
Automatic Systems is very proud to rely on this distributor’s proven competence.
Thanks to Sigitech, the company is in a position to comment today on this major project, first of its kind.
